The rules for using this site, in plain English. If anything is unclear, write to hi@yester.games.

1Who We Are

This site, yester.games, is run by YesterGames OÜ, a small company registered in Estonia. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean YesterGames OÜ, and "you" means anyone using the site.

By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

2What This Site Is

The site tells you about Yester Games and lets you sign up for the Public Beta. It doesn't sell anything, take payments or ask you to create an account. Donations go through PayPal, on PayPal's own pages.

If we add something that changes this, such as a shop, downloads or a contact form, we'll update these terms first.

3Signing Up for the Public Beta

If you sign up, please give us your real name and an email address you check, so we know who to let in and how to reach you.

  • What you're agreeing to. We'll email you about the Public Beta: when it opens, your invitation, and updates about it. We send these emails only because you asked for them. In legal terms, that is your consent.
  • Confirming your address. We may ask you to click a link in a first email to confirm the address is really yours.
  • Leaving the list. You can leave at any time, for free, using the unsubscribe link in any email we send or by writing to hi@yester.games. We'll stop emailing you straight away. Anything we sent before that stays lawful.
  • Your details. We use your name and email address only to run the list, as our Privacy Policy explains. We never sell them to anyone.
  • Who helps us. We keep the list with Google and may use an email service to send the messages. These companies work under contracts that stop them from using your details for anything else.

4Using the Site Fairly

You can use the site for anything lawful. Please don't:

  • break any law that applies to you, in the EU, Estonia or wherever you are;
  • try to get into parts of the site, or our systems, that aren't meant for you;
  • upload viruses or anything else harmful;
  • copy content from the site with bots or scrapers without asking us first;
  • pretend to be someone you're not, or claim a connection with someone you don't have.

If someone breaks these rules, we can block them from the site.

5Our Content

Everything on the site, from the words and pictures to the logo, the pixel art and the code, belongs to YesterGames OÜ or to the people who let us use it. It's protected by copyright and trademark law.

You're welcome to look at it and save copies for your own personal use. Please don't copy, sell, change or republish any of it without our written permission.

7Your Data and Cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is part of these terms. It covers cookies too, which is a short story: we don't set any. We follow the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR and Estonian data protection law.

If we ever add cookies that aren't needed to make the site work, we'll ask you before setting them.

You can complain to a data protection authority at any time. Ours is the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon), www.aki.ee. If you're in the UK, you can go to the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk.

8What We Can't Promise

We work hard to keep the site accurate and online, but we can't promise it always will be. The site is offered as it is, and we don't guarantee it will be free of errors or available at every moment.

None of this takes away any rights you have as a consumer under EU, Estonian or UK law. Those rights come first.

9If Something Goes Wrong

As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect losses that come from using the site or from not being able to use it, such as lost data, lost time or lost profits.

We don't exclude anything the law says we can't. If our negligence causes death or injury, or if we commit fraud, we are responsible, full stop.

10Changes to These Terms

We may change these terms when the site, our practices or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you which version you're reading, and we'll flag big changes on the site. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply to you.

11Which Law Applies

Estonian law applies to these terms. If you live elsewhere in the EU, or in the UK, you keep any protection your own country's consumer law gives you that can't be signed away.

If we ever disagree about something, talk to us first at hi@yester.games. We would much rather fix it than argue about it. If that doesn't work, disputes go to the courts of Estonia, unless consumer rules give you the right to use the courts where you live.

12If Part of This Doesn't Hold

If a court decides that one part of these terms can't be enforced, that part is trimmed or removed, and the rest still applies.
